In the deepness of my soul
where the water thickens with truth,
where light does not vanish
but softens into something I can finally hold.
I enter slowly,
feeling the trembling edges of who I thought I was
melt into colors I didn’t know belonged to me.
Here, every silence has weight.
Every shadow carries a lesson.
Every breath tastes like the beginning of a new courage.
I sink because sinking is the only way
to hear the voice I have buried for some time,
the one whispering that transformation is not a storm
but a patient devotion to my becoming.
And in this depth that terrifies and saves me,
I learn that we are all capable of rising
into the brightest version of ourselves
when we dare, again and again,
to meet the truth waiting in the deep.
Sometimes transformation doesn’t arrive with noise.
It doesn’t appear in a grand moment of clarity,
nor on a perfect day,
nor when we feel everything is under control.
True transformation is born in depth.
In that intimate place where no one sees us,
where emotions carry more weight.
where light changes its shape
and forces us to look at ourselves without masks.
Looking inward is not always comfortable.
Sometimes it hurts.
Sometimes it confronts us with parts of ourselves
we’ve ignored for years.
But that is also where the magic happens.
Where we discover strengths we didn’t know we had.
Where we learn to hold ourselves,
to listen,
to allow ourselves to be.
My painting Deepness and the verse that grew from it
are a reminder of that journey to the bottom:
a journey that doesn’t seek to break us,
but to reveal who we are.
Because only when we dare to explore our deepest waters,
when we choose to dive instead of float,
can we rise into a brighter version of ourselves.
At least, that’s how I feel about it…
